Eric is a registered architect in New Jersey and Florida. He is a graduate of Syracuse University School of Architecture (1977). Eric is the son of an architect Sidney Goldstein, who worked for Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and I.M. Pei and Partners in the 1950’s and 1960’s. His father’s influence led Eric to select architecture as his profession.

Eric was raised in New York City
and had the opportunity, through his father, to see the workings of the firm of I. M. Pei and Partners, from a very early age. Eric has also worked, early in his career, for some prominent architecture firms such as, Perkins and Will and Skidmore, Owings and Merrill.

Eric began his private practice in New Jersey in 1990. His practice has focused on residential projects in the New Jersey area. It has always been Eric’s belief that the architecture field is an interesting blend of the sciences and the arts. As such the architect must have both technical expertise and artistic talent.

 

His philosophy is that architecture firms should provide active, timely service rendered to meet the client’s budget and aspirations. The process of design is a creative problem solving process that employs the technical opportunities of the present and the aesthetics related to the context of its surroundings. This means that the architect, in Eric’s eyes, should be capable of designing architecture that enriches the human experience through the creation of safe, thoughtful, efficient function and form. Eric feels that architecture is interdisciplinary, a noble profession and should be pursued with a desire for sound engineered, code compliant, excellence in design and construction. Eric lives in Delray Beach, Florida, with his wife Melanie. He has two daughters, Ariella and Shoshana and a son, Seth, a step daughter, Rachel and a step son, Joshua and two grandchildren, Owen and Stella.
